Fun fact, I was actually seriously considering doing dry January this year but a cousin pointed out that January is also my birthday month and being a mimosa enthusiast that I am there is nothing more that I enjoy that a glass of Mimosa to celebrate being a year older! Now, two weeks into 2020 and, I’m like Dry January, what’s the hell is that? This year I’m going to be so healthy that I’ll occasionally put orange juice in my champagne! Plus mimosas are a good source of vitamin C, it’s pretty much considered a juice cleanse!

These Blood Orange Mimosa are the perfect way to enjoy all the wonderful citrus available during this time of the year! For good mimosas always start by juicing the fruit yourself, trust me, it makes all the difference in the world! From a brighter color, to super delicious and vibrant favors and the nutritional content of fresh juice just beats the bottled stuff everytime. If you don’t have blood oranges easily available around you, try some grapefruit or classic orange for perfect citrus inspired mimosas to enjoy this citrus season!

What you’ll need:

Champagne or Bubbly such as Prosecco or Cava, you don’t need to splash out on anything too expensive; a modest dry sparkling wine will work just fine!

Blood Orange Juice, ideally fresh-squeezed but you can always substitute organic bottled blood orange juice if necessary.

Garnishes, such as blood orange slices and thyme sprigs

 Tips for a great mimosa:

Keep everything as chilled as possible, make sure tochill the sparkling wine for at least 3 hours before serving.

Open the Champagne/Sparkling wine at the last moment possible, any time you serve bubbly wines you want to open them up as close to serving time as possible, this way all pop and fizziness is fresh!

NEVER stir a mimosa, stirring disrupts the bubbles in the champagne and makes it go flat. Plus the bubbles in the sparkling wine eventually help this drink to mix up on its own!

Kick back and relax with a glass of this bubbly, bright Blood Orange Mimosas because remember a mimosa a day keeps the worries away!
