Frozen Passion Fruit & Mango Margaritas

A couple weeks ago in the FeedfeedBrooklyn test kitchen, we had a variety of tropical fruits on set for a shoot, and I was reminded just how delicious fresh passion fruit tastes. 

It’s the perfect balance of tart, sweet, and fruity–I’m salivating just thinking about it. What better way to use such a unique, mouthwatering flavor than in a frozen cocktail? 

Not to mention, the salty spice from the tajin rim cuts the sweetness of the margaritas, making them the ultimate, lip-puckering cocktail.

2 cups frozen passion fruit puree
1 cup frozen diced mango
2/3 cup tequila, preferably silver, 80 proof
11/2 ounces agave nectar
1 ounce orange liqueur
2 cups ice
1 lime, halved
Tajin, for serving

Combine passion fruit puree, frozen mango, tequila, agave, liqueur, and ice in a high speed blender. Sprinkle tajin on a plate. Rub the cut lime on the rims of 4 glasses then dip rims in tajin to coat. Divide margarita evenly between glasses and serve immediately.
